The competition is structured in several phases:
Regional Competitions: Each participating country starts by organizing regional events. These are local-level competitions where school teams present their projects and race their cars. The top-performing teams from each region qualify for the next stage.
National Finals: The best teams from the regional events go on to compete in the national final of their country. Here, the competition is more intense, and teams must not only race a fast car but also present engineering portfolios, pit displays, and verbal presentations to a panel of judges.
World Finals: The winners or top teams from each country’s national final earn the opportunity to represent their nation in the F1 in Schools World Finals. This prestigious international event is usually held alongside a real Formula 1 Grand Prix, and brings together the best student teams from across the globe.
